Payouts and fees.

How money reaches you, when, and what Breadwave keeps. Replaces our Accounting policy.

For creators and affiliatesLast updated 30 September 2026

1. Two ways to get paid

Connect your own Stripe or Bachs account and your store sales are paid to you by them directly — Breadwave never holds that money. Or let your Bread wallet collect your store sales for you. Marketplace sales work differently: Breadwave buys your product at the moment of sale and resells it to the buyer, and what Breadwave pays you for it is credited to your Bread wallet. Affiliate commissions and referral earnings also land in the Bread wallet.

2. Your Bread wallet

Each of your stores has its own wallet, in the currency of your verified country: NGN, CAD or USD. It only holds money Breadwave collected for you. If a buyer pays in another currency, we convert it the moment they pay, and that amount never changes while it clears; each transaction shows the rate used.

3. Clearing and reserve

Each wallet sale clears on its own: bank transfer and USSD in 24 hours, cards in 7 days. 10% of each wallet sale is held in reserve for 6 weeks to cover refunds and disputes, then released to you. Money that is already available is never held again. The reserve never applies to Stripe or Bachs sales.

4. Payouts

Payouts are prepared every Monday and checked by Breadwave before they go to your bank — there’s nothing to request. Only available money is paid. If your available balance is under the minimum (₦5,000, C$10 or US$10), it rolls to the next Monday. You need to verify your identity before your first payout; you can keep selling while we check.

5. Breadwave’s fees

Our fee per sale depends on your plan and market and is listed on the Pricing page. On Pro and Elite there is no Breadwave fee on sales through your own Stripe or Bachs. Processor fees are charged by the processor. Plans are billed separately. We cover the VAT on our own fees.

6. Affiliates

Affiliates earn only on marketplace products, at the commission the creator sets. On the free affiliate tier, Breadwave keeps 20% of your commission. Affiliate Pro is a one-time fee with no commission charge; it returns to the free tier after 12 months without a sale. Commissions follow the same clearing, reserve and payout rules.

7. Referrals

Your handle is your referral code. When someone you refer pays for a plan, you earn 30% of their first payment and 20% of each renewal, and 30% of Affiliate Pro if they buy it. You never earn on their sales.

8. Refunds and disputes

A refund or dispute on a wallet sale is taken from that sale’s reserve first, then from your available balance. If money has already been paid out, it comes out of your next payout and your balance can go negative until it’s covered. Disputes are decided by the buyer’s bank. We may charge a dispute fee.

9. Taxes

You are responsible for the VAT, GST or other taxes on your own store sales. On marketplace sales, Breadwave is the seller of record and handles sales tax, VAT or GST where it applies. Breadwave charges VAT on plans in Nigeria and GST on plans in Canada.

10. Closing your account

When you close your account, your available balance is paid out on the next Monday run, after the reserve on recent sales is released and any refunds or disputes are settled.
